Shannon Harriman

Shannon began her yoga journey in college and followed her inspiration for the tradition back to its source in the east.  Living, studying, and working in Nepal and India for 14 years gave her an opportunity to learn from numerous teachers and, when she began teaching in 2001, to offer her own unique, blended style to a diverse population.  With formal training in Shivananda style Hatha, Ashtanga, Vinyasa flow, and Perinatal yoga, Shannon’s classes tend to be a gentle flow with space to explore, to rest in presence, and to witness what is happening internally.  She is eager to provide modifications for all abilities. Shannon believes strongly in the transformative power of yoga, of slowing down, of being present and cultivating mindfulness as a means to heal and foster connection.

In March of 2022, Shannon received certification as an end of life or death doula.  This is someone trained in offering peaceful presence and support to anyone approaching the end of their life and to their family members, often working in collaboration with hospice.  Please know that she is available to consult with anyone facing a terminal diagnosis or in the role of caring for someone who is approaching death.
