Local Food
The Highland Farmers’ Market, started by The Highland Center in 1998, is a producer-driven market, selling items that are grown in the Allegheny Highlands. The Market accepts Debit, Credit, and SNAP benefits and is open on Fridays, 3:30 to 6 pm from the end of May through early October.
For a full calendar and more information, visit our Farmers' Market web page or the Farmers’ Market facebook page. If you have additional questions write to Jen Rattigan at programs@thehighlandcenter.org or call 540-468-1922.
Commercial Kitchen
The Highland Center's full-service, commercially-certified kitchen makes it easy to host food based events or for local food entrepreneurs to get off the ground. Equipment includes a walk-in freezer, commercial mixer, pH meter, 6-burner stove, and convection oven.
Food Events & Workshops
Throughout the year, The Highland Center hosts a number of meals and events promoting local products and producers including the Taste of Highland and meals during the Maple Festival. We also hold workshops and classes focused on health, nutrition, growing, and preserving food.
